The tour should kick off with a momentary halt at Fushë Krujë where a statue stands to remind of the visit by George W. Bush to this country in 2007. Besides, you can find businesses like “George W. Bush Café” and “George Bakery” all nearby, reveling in this momentous occasion.

Travel through a scenic pine forest while rising to Kruja. The smell of fresh pine coupled with the green view gives a tranquil yet scenic atmospheric expression.

It’s at this fortress of history, the place of birth of Skanderbeg, national hero for Albania. Walk along its cobbled paths and visit the Skanderbeg Museum and also the Ethnographic Museum, both of which are located in castle buildings.

Take a moment to stop and admire the very same statue of Skanderbeg, which stands with its counterpart in Tirana, as it represents the valor of the hero and the affiliation that he had been holding with Kruja.

Start off exploring the city at Rozafa Castle, built on a hill overlooking the city. Learn about the legend of how the castle was constructed and enjoy breathtaking views over Shkodër, Shiroka Lake and Buna River.

Lake Shirokë is part of Lake Shkodër-the biggest in the Balkans. Enjoy a lazy afternoon lakeside or sip drinks in one of the cafés by the waterside.

Visit this 18th-century Ottoman bridge, which is significant due to its 13 arches and its history, spanning the Kir River.

The delightful Gjuhadol Quarter, sheltering the Marubi National Museum of Photography, is yet another journey and much more at Gjuhadol. This would showcase the photographic heritage of Albania. Walk down the very vibrant pedestrian street.
