From Korça to Përmet: A Journey of Nature and Culture

During our exploration, we visit some of Voskopoja’s historic churches, dating back to the 17th century, enjoying the beauty of this historic place.

Next, we head to the heart of Korça to explore the Korça Bazaar. With its cobblestone alleys and characteristic two-story buildings, the bazaar holds a rich and unique history, offering visitors a warm and authentic atmosphere. Lunch time as well.

During our exploration of Korçë, we walk through the city’s renowned Boulevard, a vibrant area that reflects the beauty and rhythm of life in this cultural hub. Next, we go at the hotel for your relax and enjoying a very delicious traditional food.

Not far from the Bazaar and the Boulevard stands the Resurrection of Christ Cathedral, a historic and cultural symbol of the city. This majestic cathedral serves as the main center of the Orthodox Diocese in the region.

After visiting the cathedral, we stop by the First Albanian School, now a museum. This school is a testament to the efforts of Albanian nationalists to preserve the language and cultural identity, keeping the historical memory alive for generations to come.

We will continue our adventurous journey with the next attraction, the Kamenica Tumulus, located about 20 minutes away from Korça. Kamenica is a charming village located in the Mollaj municipality, within the Korça district of Albania. It is one of the oldest villages in the area, with a history dating back centuries.

Leaving Kamenica, we go to see The Memorial to the Victims of the Borova Massacre honors those who lost their lives during the II-nd world war. Many people from the village of Borova were executed because they were suspected of being against the communist government.

Our next stop will be Sotira Farm, which is located alongside the road connecting Leskovik and Erseka towns. Also, Farma Sotira offers to the guests guided itineraries with saddle horses. Also, you can take horse back riding to the meadow close to the campsite.

We travel 10 kilometers from the town to the thermal waters, known for their healing and magical properties. The road follows the Vjosa River and offers a unique experience for exploring nature. Upon arrival, we have time to enjoy the freshness and relax near these natural springs.

Max Mavrud Winery is located in the mountainous region of southeastern Albania, in Leskovik. It offers a variety of wines and warm Albanian hospitality. Near the Max Winery we will visit the st. Saviour’s church…a catholic church and a monument of culture.

On the way to Përmet, we find other beautiful and interesting attractions to explore. We will continue following Vjosa River, one of the last wild rivers in Europe. Vjosa River valley is home to unique flora and fauna, making it a great spot for nature lovers.

Finally, when you arrive in Përmet, you can explore its charming streets and historic buildings. The town is famous for its thermal springs, traditional architecture, and local cuisine. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Church of St. Mary, The Bendi Bridge, and taste the famous Përmet raki.

In a short drive we find the small town of Këlcyra, which can be found in the southern part of Albania, right at the entrance leading to the world-famous Vjosa River Valley. The town is known for its magnificent views provided by green nature in mountains surrounding the area. And so, we reach the end of our two-day journey, traveling from the heart of southeastern Albania to the breathtaking landscapes of the southwestern region. A journey filled with history, nature, and unforgettable memories.
