Heritage and Coastline: Kruja & Durrës Discovery Tour

We head towards Kruja, a city steeped in history, dating back to the Illyrians and the medieval Arbëresh period. Upon arrival, we proceed to the Castle, walking through its cobblestone paths and towering walls, which offer breathtaking and majestic views.

Within the castle grounds lies the Skanderbeg Museum, which narrates the challenges and resilience of this remarkable community during its rich historical past.

After the visit to the castle, we enter the old bazzar of Kruje, where there are products made by hand by the craftsmen of that city, where with their hard work and craftsmanship, they preserve traditions and city ​​culture! After an impression of this historic city, we go down and we leave for the coast in the waters of the Adriatic, in the city of
Durres, an ancient city that was called Dyrrah in ancient times.

We then depart for the coastal city of Durrës, known in antiquity as Dyrrah. Upon arrival in the city center, we stop to admire the ruins from the Byzantine and Roman periods.

Following a short stop at the Byzantine columns, we visit the Durrës Amphitheater, dating back to the 2nd century AD. Built with Roman architecture, it had a capacity of 15,000 seats and remains one of the city’s most significant landmarks.

Finally, we head to the Vollga area, featuring the coastal promenade, a must-visit attraction. The surrounding restaurants and the aroma of freshly prepared seafood dishes make it even more enticing. Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the nearby restaurants.
