With the first stop in the city of Struga, specifically at the Drin River Bridge. With a picturesque view, you can enjoy nature and take some photos, where boats and seagulls create a true postcard scene.
After a few photos, the view captivates you, leading you toward the lake shore, where you’ll see a calm lake, with Mount Prespa descending into it like a mirror. This makes the place a spot you’ll fall in love with.
We leave this short stop with a long-lasting memory and arrive in Ohrid, heading towards the fortress. We park the car nearby and continue on foot. After a few minutes, we reach the fortress, which is located on a hill, offering a view of almost all the attractive spots of the ancient city.
After descending from the fortress, we head to St. John Church. This church is one of Ohrid’s most famous monuments, with a spectacular view, built in a very strategic location. With its Byzantine style, it is one of the city’s icons.
After visiting the fortress, we descend and head towards the Ancient Amphitheater. This 3rd-century BC amphitheater was used for theatrical performances, various games, and as an arena for gladiators.
After a few steps down a cobblestone street, we arrive at this church, one of the most important monuments of Byzantine architecture. Built around the 11th century AD, it is known for its rich history and cultural significance.
After a relatively busy visit to the attractions, we approach the city port. Here, we enjoy beautiful views around the hill where we visited, also known as the Old Town, as well as the boats available for a tour mainly for tourists. Nearby, there are fish restaurants from the lake, where we will have lunch.
After lunch, we suggest a free walk nearby, where the Old Bazaar is located. This is an opportunity for souvenir shopping or to find something special for your loved ones.
After leaving the city of Ohrid, we head to the other side of the lake, where we visit the Bay of Bones, a museum on water. This museum showcases the existence of prehistoric animals, with evidence left by the inhabitants that, when visited closely, allow you to distinguish facts and concrete reasons.
The final stop is one of the most famous and important monasteries for the community, as well as for Albanians. This is the St. Naum Monastery, located very close to the Albanian territories and visited year-round.This stop concludes our day trip, leaving with beautiful memories of the visit to the city of Ohrid.
